Workwear Trends for Autumn

Autumn is officially upon us and while that may mean no more sticky work communities, it also brings a new set of workwear challenges to figure out. Mornings are hard enough trying to balance deadlines and being creative all before your morning coffee. That’s why we’re here to help. Take a look at how we will be styling our workwear for the cooler weather.A few years ago, corporate looks were seen to be more bland and banal, think ‘Working Girl’ power suits and black pencil skirts. Thankfully, one of the key trends this season is a softer chic corporate look. The best news is that you don’t need to be office bound to take advantage of these trends. All of these trends work great for creative fields to smart casual weekend events.

The Trench

Okay, admittedly this isn’t anything new, but it is a classic for a reason. It’s one of the most versatile pieces that you can take with you throughout each season. Team the trench with slimline work pants and boots for an effortless corporate chic style.

Midi Skirts

Midi skirts are making a huge comeback this year. Midi skirts are one of our favourite pieces as it looks flattering on everyone and is appropriate for the more corporate style office. Balance out the length and volume of a midi with a nice fitted top and a pair of heels.

Modern Suit

Although we are seeing a lot of colour blocking and coordinated suits on the runways this season, you don’t have to be so matchy-matchy. Try mixing different fabrics, colours and lengths to create your own fun look for the office. Try a classic cut blazer with a fun pair of pattern work pants for a fresh but appropriate office look.

Fluid Fabrics

Soft fabrics like silk and satin will create a more luxe and softer feel rather than the traditional starched shirt. Add some softer silkier blouses into your workwear rotation for a feminine touch.

Paper Bag Troursers

Paper bag trousers have a gathered waist meaning that they are super flattering because it creates an hourglass silhouette. Not to mention, these pants are also super comfy and can be worn with sneakers for a more casual look on the weekend.

Statement Coats

In the cooler months, your outerwear will get a major workout so it’s great to have a coat that will add a pop of colour to your wardrobe. It will be a welcome change from the sea of black we see during Autumn and Winter and will instantly freshen up your wardrobe.

The age old question "what should i wear to work today?" becomes a little harder as seasons change. We think these staples will make it a little easier for you to get ready each morning and take on the day!
